The Catalyst 3750e uses x2 modules (and can be stepped to 1gbe via twingig converters) while 3750-X series uses a separate network module (nm) or service module (sm--used if you want netflow, etc. Nm can be 1gbe or 10gbe. 10gbe uses sfp+ and can support 1gbe if sfp are inserted.).
