Switch configuration
All switch models can be configured with 4 optional network modules. These PoE + and non-PoE switch models offer LAN Base or IP Base feature sets. The IP Services feature set will be available as an upgrading option at the time of order or by licensing at a later time. These GE SFP switch models offer IP Base or IP Services feature sets.
In addition to the IP Base and IP Services feature sets, the Cisco Catalyst 3750-X comes with a new LAN Base feature set. All Cisco Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X Series Switches offer these three feature sets:
LAN Base: Enhanced Smart Services
IP Base: Essential Business Services
IP Services: Enterprise Services
The LAN Base feature set provides enhanced intelligent services, including comprehensive Layer 2 functions and Layer 3 static routing functions, and can support up to 255 VLANs. In addition to all LAN Base functions, the IP Base feature set provides basic enterprise services and can support 1K VLANs. IP Base also supports routed access and OSPF for routed access dynamic routing, StackPower (only available on Catalyst 3750-X series), MACsec and new Cisco Service modules. The IP Services feature set provides a complete set of enterprise services, including advanced Layer 3 features such as Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol, Open Shorter Paths Priority, Border Gateway Protocol, Protocol Independent Multicast and IPv6 routing such as OSPFv3 and EIGRPv6. All software feature sets support advanced security, QoS and management functions.
Cisco Catalyst 3750-X Series Switches with the LAN Base feature set can only be stacked with other Cisco Catalyst 3750-X Series LAN Base Switches. Mixed stacking with LAN Base switches with IP Base or IP Services feature set is not supported.
